My first proper attempt at photographing and processing the nebula of Orion.
Shot in my back garden with ooodles of light pollution and a full moon in the sky!
Taken with the 600mm Tamron in crop mode. 29 5sec images stacked and processed in PS.
There is soooo much to learn with astrophotography, I may be some time....lol.

First attempt at trying to photograph the full Milky Way.

11 shots taken in total and stitched together in PS with some content aware fill.

Does anyone know of a good tutorial for editing these type of shots? I think more can be pulled out of this but I just don't know where to start! Maybe because it was 5.50am and there is some light pollution stops it getting any better???

Work is a pain in the backside at the minute. Long hours and stress to get the project done on time. This led to me being awake at 2.30 and decided to get up at 3am!

So, camera out to take advantage of the clear sky. 150 30secs shots with the lens pointed at Polaris. Photos converted to jpg in LR then processed with the free program - Startrails

The Moon tonight some 239,000 miles away. The star above is Aldebaran a mere 65.23 light years away. No wonder it's so small!

Explored 6.2.2017 :)

The Moon from last night taken with a 144 year old telescope! Not bad eh!

It was taken at Keele University Observatory using a 31cm Grubb refractor telescope dating back to 1874!

If you like a bit of astronomy then you must visit the Observatory. Turn up on any Tuesday evening and have a look around. Or visit on a Saturday afternoon and you could even get to see the sun. Best of all it's free!
